Ken Keefer started Keefer Consulting in
Philadelphia in 1989 as a resource for companies that were adopting
computer-aided software engineering (CASE) tools sold by KnowledgeWare, Bachman
Information Systems, and Oracle. Consulting services included evaluating
organizational readiness for structured system development, training, and
establishing CASE standards. The company became incorporated in
Pennsylvania as KEEFER CONSULTING, INC. in 1991.
In response to changing customer needs, the
emphasis evolved into a focus on data architecture services, including
information strategy development, data modeling, data warehousing, and metadata
management. Keefer Consulting began providing these services to major
pharmaceutical companies in 1997. Projects have included pharmaceutical
customer and product integration, sales and marketing data analysis,
sales force automation (SFA), clinical trial management, pharmacovigilance, pharmacy benefit management (PBM),
R&D grants accounting.
Keefer Consulting now helps growing
biopharmaceutical companies respond more effectively to customers and other
stakeholders by improving business information governance, quality, and architecture
through facilitating client consensus
on information strategies to support business goals.
